Experiment #3: Chestnuts

(Originally uploaded on YouTube on October 27, 2012)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrEvDm353ns

(Rated PG) In my third episode I finally got to microwave chestnuts. In what was supposed to be a simple, quick demonstration of chestnuts spinning when microwaved, it began as a fail and turned into my first explosions on my show. I think THIS may have been the episode that got me wanting to do bigger and better things than just mostly mundane parody items and dig into my archive of different things I've done over the years. It's also been featured on not just my season one clip show, but in every clip show that goes back to season 1. What started out as a fail became my best season 1 episode except maybe for the grape and the wetnap. But they'll come later. Anyways, my mistake when making this episode was using store-bought chestnuts since there weren't many home grown chestnuts this year and I already used about five home-grown chestnuts in the original pilot episode which was called "Microwave My Head" that I'd filmed back in September that never aired thankfully. In these earlier episodes, I was ripping off JPizzle and dovetastic more than I'd like to admit, but that's because I had no idea how to make a YouTube microwave show so I used them as a template. It wasn't until episode 25 (partway into season 2) that you notice a different narration style, and it wasn't really until episode 30 that "Captain Microwave" became the standard until about halfway into season 4. I've actually experimented with many different narration styles since my show started, and ironically I ended up settling on a straight narration style not unlike in episodes 1-4 but without the overt references to Jon's or Kenny's shows. I've got a few more episodes coming up after this, be sure to watch them. If I am given good reason to, I'll keep uploading my old episodes until I'm caught up on here and uploading both YouTube and Dailymotion side by side (and I'll be linking to the Vimeo videos for season 8 when appropriate). Anyways, I hope you enjoy these early episodes of my show, so far the views are a bit of an encouragement to keep sharing my work here despite being largely an unknown. Once my first 6 episodes are up, I'll use all 6 as a testing ground to see what people here think of them. If all 6 get some respectable level of views, and comments, expect episodes 7-13 to be uploaded next, then if THOSE also do well, I'll finish off season 1.
