Demonstrators and police have clashed in Kurdish-dominated southeast Turkey. over the construction of a new military out post.<br /><br />Tensions in the area had already risen following the deaths of two Kurdish men in earlier protests.<br /><br />The new army posts are seen as a threat to a peace process between the government and the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).<br /><br />Police fired tear gas and water cannon at demonstrators who threw stones and burnt barricades following the funeral of one of the victims.
