Broadway history was made at the 68th annual Tony Awards in New York.<br /><br />Actress Audra McDonald won her sixth award and became the only woman to win a Tony in all four acting categories.<br /><br />Hosting the ceremony was award-winning actor Hugh Jackman, who presented McDonald with the award for best actress.<br /><br />Acclaimed for her role as Billie Holiday in ‘Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar’, she is now tied with the late Julie Harris, who also had six wins.<br /><br />Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston took the Tony for best actor for his portrayal of Lyndon B Johnson in Robert Schenkkan’s ‘All The Way’, which also won best play.<br /><br />Meanwhile, comedy ‘A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder’ and 90s musical ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’ tied for the most Tonys, with four awards each.<br /><br />Sitcom star Neil Patrick took the title of Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of a transgender rocker who had been mutilated in a sex change gone wrong, in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch’.
