Parts of central Europe are experiencing their highest temperatures so far in 2014.<br /><br />Hot air from Africa is causing a heatwave across the continent. <br /><br />In western Poland, the mercury is expected to soar to at least 32 degrees Celsius on June 10, while the German capital Berlin will hit 34 degrees.<br /><br />Ice cream, swimming and sunbathing were at the top of many people’s ‘to do’ lists.<br /><br />In Germany, people made the most of the three-day ‘Pentecost’ weekend.<br /><br />But the sunshine is not set to last.<br /><br />Severe weather warnings are in place in both Germany and Poland, with forecasts suggesting violent thunderstorms will bring more seasonable temperatures.
