A child depicts Christmas, be reminded <br />if your desires and appetites are wasted <br />on petty toys and fleeting pleasures <br />your soul and spirit out of control <br />be sure you know there is a limit <br />a tearing asunder of body and soul. <br /> <br />A small token of love from the Father <br />supplants all philosophies or banter <br />Whether He is spirit or imaginary <br />the law of harvest apply be wary <br />that you will not escape consequences <br />and bear the brunt of your dalliances. <br /> <br />My heart flows with laughter and joy <br />whenever I see goodness and grace <br />where no one is with too much <br />Where too much is distributed to all <br />and the purest intention of blessing <br />is met with welcome and not cursing. <br /> <br />So this Christmas Day spend a minute <br />to reconsider the child what he wanted <br />Is it to have a roomful of playthings? <br />Or a hand and an ear, stories to share? <br />Such a child lives in most everyone <br />He is still there waiting for someone.<br /><br />Doris Cornago<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-child-lives/
