Falling... <br />falling into darkness... <br />flames surround me...consume me.... <br />the pain that will never heal.. <br />filling my mind destroying my thoughts... <br />my soul screams into the unforgiving sky... <br />i cry but my tears are of fire... <br />burning my face searing my flesh... <br />yet i cannot stop them.. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />i fall.. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />how long have i fallen? ... <br />there is no reference of time... <br />i try to think to remember... <br />but the pain cuts through my reason... <br />my scream deafens me... <br />the heat of the flames overwelms me... <br />the fire in my eyes blinds me... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />and still i fall... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />i want the pain to end... <br />the flames to begone... <br />an end to my suffering.. <br />i can feel my skin blacken and stiffen.. <br />my flesh go hard and crack.. <br />the heat seaping into my bones... <br />i am powerless to stop the confligration devouring me... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />down, down i fall.... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />how did this come to be... <br />what has happened to me? ... <br />i try to think, to recall... <br />as the flames eat at my flesh... <br />who am i? ... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />through blurred burning eyes i see something before me... <br />rushing towards me... <br />closer and closer it comes... <br />forboding fills my heart.. <br />driving out the thoughts and questions... <br />i brace my flame consumed form... <br />as i reach my falls end and meet the world below... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />i am fallen.... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />the flames die... <br />the tears stop... <br />i am no longer burning... <br />i am no longer falling... <br />the heat no longer is within me.. <br />i am alone and cold to my soul... <br />i remeber now who i am... <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />i am the fallen....<br /><br />Peter Madden<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/falling-224/
