Walls <br /> <br />Walls of stone, walls of time, <br />Walls in the soul or just in the mind, <br /> <br />Vast, unyielding, even if you can't see, <br />For walls are there if made only by me <br /> <br />Impregnable by force and logic can't span, <br />Broached by the simple reach of a hand, <br /> <br />A simple invitation, 'Come, walk with me' <br />Is often all it takes for one to see. <br /> <br />That we need not live behind a wall, <br />That at times looks so wide and so very tall <br /> <br />But I have to seek and find that magic door, <br />That leads me to freedom and light once more <br /> <br />The door that is opened when I choose to share, <br />And allow myself to see it is alright to care, <br /> <br />Both I for someone and someone for me, <br />Then I turn, and look, the wall is nowhere to be. <br /> <br />Jim 1988<br /><br />James Casey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/walls-33/
