Lost in a world of words am I. <br />They've taken over my mind. <br />They have invaded all of my moments. <br />I cannot leave them behind. <br /> <br />Sometimes they run into each other <br />as if to say 'Use me.' <br />And at other times they're orderly <br />but they never let me be. <br /> <br />I hear them when I'm wide-awake. <br />I hear them in my dreams. <br />I wish sometimes to escape them <br />but they're stitched up tight at my seams. <br /> <br />No loose threads can shake them loose. <br />I've tried but to my dismay <br />they surround the fabric of my being <br />on every single day. <br /> <br />I've slowly learned to accept this fate <br />and give into the words I hear. <br />And as I pick up my pen to write <br />they finally leave my ear <br />for a little while.<br /><br />Edwina Reizer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-world-of-words/
