There's the brightest star in the heavens <br />and it seems to be shinning down on me. <br />I noticed it just the other night <br />when I was looking up, you see. <br /> <br />It twinkled brightly as I gazed <br />as if it were saying to me, 'Hello! ' <br />And seemed to gleam a bit brighter then <br />it gave off a brilliant after glow. <br /> <br />I wonder if it see's me? <br />And Is there someone looking down at me? <br />It's the brightest star in all the heavens <br />and it's brightness was made for all to see. <br /> <br />One day I may travel, to where this star was formed. <br />And sit with others who have seen it too <br />and where other small bright stars are born. <br /> <br />To the place they call the Milky Way <br />or Pluto, or of the planet Staurn. <br />Where the maker of all the stars <br />lights each one, with His magic lantern. <br /> <br />Where time has no ending <br />where there is room enough for all. <br />In the clouds with their silver linings <br />and all walk in great of golden halls. <br /> <br />Keep shinning star, shine on me <br />may your beams fill all dreams tonight. <br />Until one day others too say <br />You are the brightest of all stars they've seen tonight.<br /><br />Linda Winchell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-brightest-star-in-the-heavens/
