I taste the orange crush, <br />As the sunshine pours down on me, <br />I feel the heat of the desert, <br />Make me melt like ice cream, <br />And pulls me into a summer dream, <br />Where I wear faded blue jeans, <br />And remember what had been, <br />For the heat of summer is here, <br />Making me crave the coolness of orange juice, <br />And makes me kiss you, <br />For I have nothing to lose, <br />For I can taste oranges and lemons, <br />On your lips, <br />As I taste your sunshine kiss, <br />As we celebrate the sun, <br />Have plenty of summertime fun, <br />As we walk through the park, <br />And watch children play, <br />For it is a happy, innocent day, <br />Where even people at work, <br />Seek to walk under the wonderful sun, <br />People eat ice cream too, <br />Wearing sunglasses and flip-flops, <br />Orange lollies tasted on their tongues, <br />For the day is bright and young, <br />And when evening falls, <br />I know you shall be there for me to call, <br />To dream this happy dream, <br />Before summer turns to fall.<br /><br />Paula Glynn<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/orange-juice-2/
