Each night, as I lay me down to sleep, <br />Ever-mindful of the promise I shall keep, <br />I pray for respite in my heart's lament, <br />Needing just a glimpse of the magnicifent <br />And beauteous creations, made in my own image- <br />If but only for a brief time, to take in their visage! <br /> <br />Nothing, nor anyone may alter my faith, inexorable; <br />Nor too may they change one simple fact, inescapable- <br />I am their Father, I should not have to beg or plead <br />For their consort and pleasance! !
