This poem is based on something that happened to me the other week. Enjoy! <br /> <br />I've got P.E. now hoorah hooray <br />I wish we had it every day <br />You must know I'm being sarcastic <br />Doing P.E. is fr from fantastic <br />Pull on the uniform, up with the skirt <br />Pray that you wont get too hurt <br />Toay it is the dreaded netball <br />We all wait for the bell to call <br />Into the gale my friends now run <br />But I am not expecting fun <br />I am the keeper, who no one needs <br />On my pain my teacher feeds <br />The ball is flying, the girls charge <br />My chances of getting it arn't large <br />Here in my sector I pace to and fro <br />I can't wait for the time to go <br />In my heart I'm a runner, a thurst for action <br />Back here I get little satisfaction <br />If they's give me a chance, then they's see <br />There is so much more to me <br />Here I feel like a wolf in a cage <br />In my gut frustration reigns <br />Now I pace and pad and prowl <br />In my throat I feel a growl <br />But when the ball comes in my sight <br />I have no room to use my might <br />The rest all block me, no room to move <br />My style is suddenly far from smooth <br />I fluff a pass, I miss by miles <br />Suddenly I'm in a sea of smiles <br />Now I'm a figure of ridicule <br />Yeah, go on, laugh at the fool <br />But sudenly there's an injury <br />They could forfeit but turn to me <br />Could this prowling clumsy nut, <br />Save the game and make the cut? <br />On the whistle I'm off and away <br />As fast as a bullet out into the fray <br />Now with the freedom to move and run <br />I'm suprising everyone <br />As soon as I'm out I seem to fly <br />The ball soars up into the sky <br />One single leap an it's in my hand <br />I've thrown it before I have time to land <br />Then it's done, I've finally scored <br />I just bask as the crowds applaud <br />The others just look on in awe <br />Then never dreamed that I could score <br />Now I'm always in attack <br />There's no way I'll ever go back<br /><br />Steffi Webster<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/plight-of-the-netball-keeper/
