My fears, primal <br />vital as tears like the years that pass in blue <br />in subdued hues of sky, <br />thundering by <br />wondering why I've never felt so alive <br />as when i'm seething in red. <br />Lying in rage <br />caged but free to be angry at me <br />slitting wrists like rivers, <br />clenching my fists <br />draining my life with these scissors. <br />But death lives on in shades of green <br />from the color of trees <br />to algae in seas <br />to moss and fungus <br />to the rigor mortis among us <br />to gang green <br />to dead leaves <br />to the moss on dead trees <br />it’s a life full of cycles, <br />death that recycles in circles <br />in dead shades of purple. <br />Overflowing and growing in white <br />trading sunlight for night, <br />drowning in black <br />as bright as the darkness <br />like black lights <br />in dark days <br />the way sunrays lay - <br />eclipsed by shadows <br />wielding rainbows in battles <br />living the spectrum <br />above all else the color of love <br />the contrast of life, <br />like black and white pictures of portraits <br />of orchids with petals <br />softer than metal <br />but harder than steel. <br />On any given day this is how I feel.<br /><br />I write because I have to<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/clarity-20/
