We were on our way to The Getty <br />You pointed the back screen of the car in front of us <br />I read. It said - I like it when it is that way and it is like that now <br />There was no word spoken but we both understood and smiled <br /> <br />We locked our fingers as we walked holding hands <br />Like the matching pair of gloves, they fitted so well <br />You said I’ve changed you completely <br />Of what you believed the real beauty was <br /> <br />We strolled around the beautiful Central Garden <br />The dancing butterflies reminded me of your Butterflies Dream <br />It stirred my heart with so much mixed feelings and so many thoughts <br />I know it wasn’t the warm summer sun that warmed my heart but you <br /> <br />We stood in front of the young maiden and the cupid <br />She was making weak attempt to refuse his piercing arrow <br />But he knew, he had won the battle by looking at her eyes <br />Because amidst the struggles, she wanted it badly at the same time <br /> <br />We witnessed a huge and blurry blind man <br />He carried a dying young boy who was once his eyes <br />Around the young boy's left ankle was a poisonous snake <br />The image taught us love, loyalty and courage to never give up hope <br /> <br />We submerged ourselves in the centuries old paintings and art pieces <br />Each came with glorious story of the past and the splendid beauty of the subject <br />You read every detail of each painting with great interest and admired with respect <br />I never knew we shared this passion until now...<br /><br />Stacey Chan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-getty/
