alone i was in a desert clouded by sand <br />lingering tired and thirsty was i <br />when you invited me to your wonderland <br />and gave me a sip when time was nigh <br /> <br />i asked myself what i've got <br />what i have now and what i had not <br /> <br />you gave me strength to carry on <br />you gave me hope for tomorrow <br />but as life goes on <br />the happy days turn to sorrow <br /> <br />you gave me so much that made me feel a man <br />you made me do things i never thought i can <br /> <br />i keep wondering..can a day or two change one's fate <br />is life that simple not to plan or follow a certain date <br /> <br />i know your eyes may never see mine <br />i know that your days i'll never share <br />though you'll always stay in mind <br />and your photo that i'll always stare <br /> <br />i close my eyes and think of you <br />and fantasize what might have been <br />i can still see your smile so true <br />i can feel your tender skin <br /> <br />i love you so much but it seems <br />this love lives only in my dreams <br />i know my love for you is not a crime <br />it's just a victim of tradition and time <br /> <br />i always thought love was great <br />as great as a castle that needed much time <br />a fortress that was built to withstand <br />then you built me a castle within a chime <br />so fabulous but made of sand <br /> <br />so small so weak to live for long <br />yet as sweet as a place from heaven <br />it's not a fortress it's not that strong <br />so delicate it was that crazy i was driven <br /> <br />this castle of ours may not live forever <br />but its grains of sand shall vanish never <br /> 3-10-09<br /><br />muhammed medhat<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/alice-invited-me-to-her-wonderland/
