She lived her life all alone <br />No one to ever love <br />She had no one to lean on <br />No one she could think of <br /> <br />When life's troubles got her down <br />She retreated to her room <br />Surrounded by four grey walls <br />She felt like she was doomed <br /> <br />The walls kept on closing in <br />She couldn't take no more <br />She looked at herself in the mirror <br />She wondered, what am I living for <br /> <br />So she went to her closet <br />She selected her best dress <br />She put it on with her new shoes <br />Then left her house on her quest <br /> <br />She drove down to the river <br />Parked her car and got out <br />She stood there for a moment <br />But there was nothing to figure out <br /> <br />She climbed up on the rail <br />Threw herself into the air <br />As she drifted toward the water <br />Suddenly, she had not a care <br /> <br />All the pressure that she felt <br />Had all disappeared <br />For the first time in her painful life <br />Her head was completely clear <br /> <br />Now they never found her body <br />But in her car she left a letter <br />She said, please don't worry about me <br />In death life will be much better <br /> <br /> <br />11-06-09/RJH<br /><br />Ray Hansell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-better-life-in-death/
