I have lost that for which I had sought for so long <br />All my beliefs proved to be wrong <br />The unity I sought was not what was found <br />No merging of souls eternally bound <br />No forever together till death do us part <br />No always in love with all of my heart <br />No growing closer as years roll by <br />No fairytale, but merely a lie <br /> <br />I was trapped in deceit for so very long <br />But I saw the way out and chose to be strong <br />The sentence complete the fetters unbound <br />Now unentwined but no happiness found <br />Now all alone till death closes in <br />Now broken hearted and hollow within <br />Now growing fainter as years roll by <br />Now near the end I yearn for the lie<br /><br />Doom and Gloom<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/regret-150/
