In weakness and in fear, <br />In doubt and trembling <br />Like a lost child <br />With an heavy heart, <br />In humility, <br />In hope for my salvation <br />I came to Thee... <br />I came to encounter thee, <br />God Almighty! <br />Behind thy church's stone, <br />On my knees I fell <br />Among the trees in forest deep, <br />My wounded soul to thee I wept. <br />Thou understood my prayer, <br />Thou understood my woe <br />And in thy Grace Divine, <br />Thou received this soul of mine; <br />Upon my heart, <br />Thy mystic presence...Light! <br />Lost soul, by guiding light I found. <br />With Everlasting Love Divine, <br />My mortal human weakness thou replaced; <br />And with such radiance my heart fulfilled, <br />Beyond my knowing reaches <br />Mesmerized by a miracle I felt, <br />Overflowing sacredly upon the World <br />With abundance in sharing, <br />Spreading Divine on paths by evil touched. <br />And I raised and walked <br />With a confidence I did not have, <br />In smile my joyful spirit, while humiliated, <br />Devoted loving, while despised I have been; <br />Wide wings of hope I felt <br />Soaring high and free <br />Just like a dove; <br />Faithfully...I believed! <br />And all my questions, <br />In thy sacred book <br />Thou answered them God! <br />I, then… <br />Loved with a Love <br />Beyond reason or judgement, <br />Completely, selflessly, <br />To the point of vanishing… <br />Till thy Brightness, <br />Brought me closer to Thee... <br />God Almighty!<br /><br />Mihaela Pirjol<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/encountering-god/
