Because I could not stop for Death,
I kindly ran him over!
There was enough room in the car,
But I still killed him.

I slowly drove- He slowly ran.
But he was too slow for my van!
And he looked like a flattened can
On my van's rim.

We passed by a school and people saw.
Children were crying while teachers looked in awe,
Or rather, it looked strange to all
when I stopped the car, and they saw Death fall!
And I stomped on the gas pedal when I saw Death begin to crawl!

Again, I did not stop for Death.
He looked back, saw me coming, and screamed!
He was so loud, I thought I'd go deaf!
And then he died afterword, or so it seemed.

Then I went to go get lunch.
I had Chinese Food!
I drove away afterword
Ignoring the dead black cloaked dude!

And so, I did not stop for Death,
So I then sighed a relieving breath.
Knowing that was the end of that,
I then bought an 'I hate Death' hat.

Genesis Sigal

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-conquered-death/
