One moment she's there.
Another moment she's flown away.
To practice her dance of life.
To ancestors or maybe
walking coastline dreaming.
She arrives in time back
shining like green stone light.
Alluring and elegant as ever
when she's been practicing.
Dancing on pure air.

I quake at her loveliness.
Other evening shook so hard.
Left sanctuary off tall bed.
She discovered me fallen.
Uncovered me sunshine morning.
As she gave kiss of life.
Said lover writer boy.
'You've been out dancing
where spirit shadows fly
upon other moonlight shore'.

I form majestic phrases.
Love enchanting words to tell.
Accept her veil slips away.
Hope she won't in turn shift.
Nor let her heart drift.
Instead I stammer and say.
'Just been with you,
my sweet ocean lover fair'.
Is just like dancing.
Dancing on pure air.

Wayne Falconer

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dancing-on-pure-air/
