Prayerful human-nature wish-catalyst <br />As dreams, hopes and prayers <br />Crowd and contrary the mind <br /> <br />Stretching horizons beyond periphery <br />Integrating daily thoughts with dialogue <br />Isolating nightmares with open-eyed frustration <br />For moments of nervous tremors that do not abide. <br /> <br />There is a grace and an affliction in the hopeful <br />That can ‘make’ and ‘break’ at pick-yourself-up speed. <br /> <br />It’s never ‘too soon’ or ‘too late’ to begin (or) start over <br />For students in this hell-on-Earth Master class <br />As we translate what we hear, what we read and see <br />Make choices that trip us up or propel us forward <br />With the balm of a fade-out, fade-in flexibility that <br />Makes ‘now’ the most important time in this life <br />For those who are drawn to toss a coin in a fountain <br />Or wishing-well, catch our breath at the sight <br />Of a rainbow, toss a prayer and sing: <br /> <br />“If happy little bluebirds fly, beyond the rainbow <br />why, oh why...” Yeah, okay, yeah! ! ! <br /> <br /> <br />(JB, 2011)<br /><br />Jim Boone<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/wishing-wells-and-rainbows/
