Shadows kiss <br />without kissing, <br />touch <br />without touching, <br />yearn for love, <br />never knowing <br />it's warmth. <br /> <br />Lovers smooch <br />in a doorway, <br />where light glows <br />from windows, <br />while shadows, <br />they drift <br />over walls. <br /> <br />Dancing <br />so sprightly <br />they trip <br />and they tango <br />in tricks of the light <br />as they fly <br />and they prance. <br /> <br />They slip <br />and they slide <br />through a window, <br />so swiftly, <br />to creep neath a duvet <br />unseen <br />by sharp eyes. <br /> <br />They endeavour <br />to woo but when <br />darkness kills sunshine <br />black floods <br />the land <br />and all shadows, <br />must die…… <br /> <br />It was good <br />for a moment <br />but moments <br />are fleeting, <br />as moonlight <br />and stars chase <br />all shadows away.<br /><br />Ruth Walters<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/shadows-of-love-2/
