I have come to terms that for now it is over, and maybe forever <br />But as I sit here in a pool of bloody tears ever seeing her face <br />I wonder what went wrong <br />I gave everything I had, did she not give the same? <br />Yes I had faults and failures, as any man should have, but not a day went by when I didn’t utter her name <br /> <br />Oh what sweet innocence was she when I met her <br />So perfect and pure, as if God himself had sent an angel for me to love <br />I gazed into her eyes and I saw deep beauty rooted within <br />The only beauty that could be seen in heaven <br />Alas this angel that I love now flies away after many a grueling day <br />What do I do now? <br />The light has gone away <br />And yet in the distance I still do see this angel play <br />And in her eyes I still see the same beauty and her wings still pure <br />But her glow has dimmed, a bit tainted for sure <br />Holding a string in her hand with my heart so beaten and abscure <br /> <br />Yet strangely I still give it to her day after day <br />Hoping just once she will come out to play <br />Those sweet melodies from heaven and maybe on that day that angel will love me <br />As I have loved her day after day<br /><br />Alex Fischer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-angel-with-my-heart/
