The weather is chilly yet with so little rain <br />And not one dropp of water in the roadside drain <br />The hills overlooking the river are green <br />Yet signs of climate change not hard to be seen <br />The river is low for the time of year <br />And in the long range weather forecast of heavy rain we do not hear <br />In the depths of mid Winter five weeks from the Spring <br />To many a few days of heavy rain great joy would bring <br />No signs of heavy rain in the southern sky <br />And everywhere looking so dry for July <br />A dry Winter has followed a dry Spring, Summer and Fall <br />And financially the farmers are not doing well at all <br />So many for heavy spells of rain do pray <br />Though heavy rain from the Country does seem far away.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/signs-of-climate-change/
