The farm dams low and the creeks are long dry <br />And no clouds of rain in the blue sunny sky <br />From the sun the cattle are sheltering in the shade of the trees <br />On a day in late Summer of thirty degrees <br />A four hours drive from here bushfires have left hundreds of people dead <br />And killed at least one million animals or so it is said <br />Have burnt a few thousand homes to the ground <br />And blackened the landscape for hundreds of kilometres around <br />And further north it has rained as never before <br />And many towns have been flooded for a month or more <br />In a Land that is ravaged by fire flooding and drought <br />We have come to know what climate change is about <br />And this just the start of it some of the well informed say <br />For carbon emissions the price huge to pay.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-climate-change-is-about/
