The body needs it’s legs to walk <br />Needs hands with which to feel <br />Without a mouth it couldn’t talk <br />Nor could it eat a meal <br /> <br />The church of Christ is much the same <br />Her parts are needed too 1Co.12: 12 <br />When void of limbs she too is lame <br />The same as me and you Eph.5: 30 <br /> <br />Apostles are the church’s feet <br />They wander to and fro <br />While catching fish and planting wheat <br />They’ll teach and help to grow <br /> <br />Within the truth Christ’s church is fed Col.1: 24 <br />That none should ever stray <br />The Lord ordains to serve His bread <br />A priest to show the way <br /> <br />Anointed has a priest to be <br />With oil from Jesus’ hand <br />The church’s head must bend the knee <br />From where they’ll understand <br /> <br />A prophet’s used where God will tell <br />Where parts should come and go <br />What each should do to function well <br />And does what God will show <br /> <br />Some parts will teach though Christ the Lord <br />Others will preach the same <br />Tongues to speak in one accord <br />And magnify His name <br /> <br />God’s gifts are not to be abused <br />They’re His and not for fun <br />They’re for His church and only used <br />To glorify His Son.<br /><br />Michael P.
