Make a Joyful Noise <br /> <br /> <br />I walked outside and there they stood <br />Birds of a feather joyfully singing in the woods <br />They were untouched by the cold, cold weather <br />With a sense of bonding they sang together <br /> <br />Together those birds sang cheerfully <br />To me they all seemed so carefree <br />Ice was hanging from limb to limb <br />And I quietly marveled at them <br /> <br />Blue Jays - sparrows - birds unknown <br />With me listening, cold to the bone <br />Their music gladdened my once lonely heart <br />Songs that held me fast unable to depart <br /> <br />Where they got their pep God only knows <br />It sent a warming chill down to my toes <br />Out of a day filled with such drabness <br />I admired the spectacle of this chorus <br /> <br />If birds can sing during the winter cold <br />Giving me a lovely site, indeed to behold <br />With diverse colors and mingling sounds <br />Dear Lord, why should I ever feel down? <br /> <br />Jim 1977<br /><br />James Casey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/make-a-joyful-noise-2/
