This constant loop, <br />Seems never-ending; <br />It's the exact same thing, <br />And I keep on trying. <br /> <br />I've never been, <br />So close before; <br />As I was that day, <br />When my hopes were torn. <br /> <br />My idiotic ways, <br />Left you out of my league; <br />Damn me for being so shy, <br />For showing such fatigue. <br /> <br />But when I finally realized, <br />What had gone wrong; <br />It was far too late, <br />You had come and gone. <br /> <br />I missed my chance, <br />At an amazing girl; <br />One as nice as a flock of birds, <br />As beautiful as a shining pearl. <br /> <br />So now I'm stuck here, <br />Thinking of what to do next; <br />Out of every single idea, <br />A second chance would be the best. <br /> <br />But to be so lucky, <br />Not for me; <br />I lost my chance, <br />Now I'm lost at sea. <br /> <br />I won't call it love, <br />It wasn't that strong; <br />But whatever it was, <br />Surely it wasn't wrong. <br /> <br />And all I could hope for, <br />Is another way; <br />To show who I really am, <br />To show that I mean what I say.<br /><br />Kenny Mantinelli<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-mean-what-i-say-2/
