My fixed vision, <br />Do I see one bright star <br />Forever gazing at an empty sky <br />No longer so, yet forevermore <br />Why do I lay along dull grass <br />On gloomy afternoons <br />Waiting for nightfall <br />Drowsy, I slumber <br />Yet why is it I still see <br />A bright star, shining <br />Even on a cloudy afternoon <br />Chasing after, it runs away <br />Skipping across rivers <br />I cannot reach, oh shining star <br />Curse me, nature's patience <br />Wake me, dreaming, I was only <br />Dreaming, the depth of my heart's <br />Shadows grow numberless <br />Skies fail to darken <br />Will the day ever return you <br />With myself, I spend it all <br />The shallow breaths of my soul <br />I'm forever missing you <br />Oh bright star, truly <br />I long for us to be alone <br />Together, as we should <br />Bright star, do you think of me too <br />Blinding, you shine brighter <br />Than any other star <br />Always visit me, bright star <br />Even when we age, remember me <br />As I do you, stay with me always <br />When you come to me, I smile <br />Share your thoughts with me <br />Bright star, how we laugh <br />In union for the night's whole <br />I'll fight the story's end <br />Yet you call it a day, <br />The sensible way, am I a fool <br />To cling, to some fading thing <br />Bright star, flash me that sad smile <br />Love, don't worry about me<br /><br />Stefanie Fontker<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/bright-star-6/
