You're three years old, sittin' on grandpa's lap, <br />The rain is falling from the skies. <br />He's humming a song so you'll take a nap. <br />Slowly you close your eyes. <br /> <br />Where did the time go? <br /> <br />It's the first day of elementary school, <br />And you're scared to death. <br />You and your light-up shoes looking cool, <br />You go to class with Ms. Marybeth. <br /> <br />Where did the time go? <br /> <br />Today is your first middle school dance, <br />You like that boy Bill. <br />You try to talk to him but you don't get the chance, <br />Because he ends up going with that cheerleader Jill. <br /> <br />Where did the time go? <br /> <br />It's Senior night, and you're on the field with the band. <br />They call your name. <br />You walk to the front, flag in hand. <br />And when they applaud you, you bask in the fame. <br /> <br />Where did the time go? <br /> <br />Guess what? It's your wedding day. <br />You're marrying your knight. <br />You have been waiting for this and you pray, <br />That you and him will have a magical wedding night. <br /> <br />Where did the time go? <br /> <br />'One more push' says the doctor, <br />Your son is here. <br />Beaming with joy, you say to your husband, <br />'His name is Joey, right dear?
