Hidden in my attic
There’s a treasure chest of dreams
I hold the key that’s let’s me in
To a world not what it seems

Each has its own beginning
Not all have got an end
Many only broken dreams
To dream again and mend

Dreams that I’m the hero
Again I saved the day
Or an eye into the future
Doing things a different way

Special dreams for lovers
Who dream for what they wish
Even ones for gourmet chefs
To make that one off dish

Some are dreams of sorrow
They often make me sad
I turn those dreams round quickly
Into one’s that make me glad

All I’ve ever dreamt of
I keep within this chest
And should I take the key to it
I’ll only dream the best

© 2008 David Threadgold
Rambling Riddles
