April disappeared in the hot afternoon <br />With idly floating tatters of clouds in the sky <br />And too much thinking, words, beauty-search; <br />When words failed thought gained ascendancy <br />Like those moonlit nights of singing girls. <br />We saw palaces with the hidden sun in chinks <br />Sad children dragging sacs of dung cakes <br />While buffaloes with glassy eyes sadly stared <br />Where was the beauty of the garden in arches; <br />Huge gateways hid them, in holiday mood, <br />From our touristy gaze and expectant lens <br />It is time poetry returned amidst dust and sun.<br /><br />Jagannath rao Adukuri<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-return-of-poetry/
