Racing on the road, <br />Trying to get home, <br />Will I make it? <br />Or will I not? <br /> <br />Almost their, <br />But not quite yet, <br />I’ve got to get home, <br />Before it’s too late. <br /> <br />My cats giving birth, <br />I don’t know what to do, <br />She’s my little cat, <br />And will always be. <br /> <br />I’m home at last, <br />But it’s too late, <br />The family’s already extended, <br />There’s nothing I can do. <br /> <br />One’s black, <br />Ones Tabbyish, <br />They are my kittens, <br />Once and for all. <br /> <br />I thought it had finished, <br />But no it had not, <br />2 more were born, <br />And that is final. <br /> <br />I was lucky, <br />Thrilled like a dog, <br />I saw 2 and that’s good enough. <br />Now I’ve got 4 kittens instead of 2 kittens. <br /> <br />Ones Black, <br />Ones Tabbyish, <br />Ones black and white, <br />And ones black with a white chin. <br /> <br />There mine, <br />There mine, <br />There going to have to go, <br />I know, <br />But at least I get to keep them for 8-12 weeks. <br /> <br />They’re really small, <br />They’re really cute, <br />I’m glad I got home, <br />Because I wasn’t too late. <br /> <br />(extended from my other poem: Got to get home)<br /><br />Lily Austin<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/got-to-get-home-before-it-s-too-late/
