One with low self esteem in that I am not rare <br />So many like me in the big World out there <br />We build our mental walls by putting ourselves down <br />Our obstacles to success that lead to renown. <br /> <br />For one with low self esteem look no further than me <br />Of my inhibitions I will never be free <br />We are what we think we are does seem so true <br />And we receive from life what is only our due. <br /> <br />The king of the lion pride has the biggest roar <br />And the turkey with the mighty eagle can't soar <br />We create our reality by the words that we say <br />We are what we think we are life is that way. <br /> <br />My thoughts on self started in Primary School <br />Where I often sat upon the dunce's stool <br />Perhaps the start for me of low self esteem <br />For sense of self there is a trigger 'twould seem. <br /> <br />Of any form of success us our thoughts can deny <br />And we are what we think we are to all does apply <br />Self doubt for me in Primary School did begin <br />And with negative thinking one cannot hope to win.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/we-are-what-we-think-we-are/
