A marvellous gift the great gift of compassion it is a gift not everyone possess <br />Compassionate people feel for other people for those who know of great unhappiness <br />They are not selfish or in any way self centred for to help and comfort others they go out of their way <br />And for themselves they are building up good karma what goes around does come around they say <br />Compassionate people are the best of people for the suffering of others they do care <br />The World is better for them living in it but sad to say they are known to be rare <br />I've known a few of them but not that many and them I did feel privileged to know <br />They are the sort of people well worth knowing such love and kindness they do have to show <br />There's more to life than only thinking of our own needs there are others beside Me, Myself and I <br />Though love of self it can be quite important for to say different it would be a lie <br />But we should also spare some thought for others of others needs we ought to feel aware <br />There are millions of poor sad and lonely people doing it quite tough in the big World out there <br />A marvellous gift the great gift of compassion those with it good karma for themselves do sow <br />Compassionate people they are in minority and a few of them I feel privileged to know.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-marvellous-gift/
