You came on the brink of despair <br />When I was losing hold of a branch <br />Bruised aching fingers dripped blood <br />Brow trickled with beads of perspiration <br />My eyes beheld you in the glow of light <br />My heart jumped like a tricked kitten <br />So lively you made me when you came <br />Expiring, I regained quick breath <br />Tears slowly gathered in my eyes <br />Strength suffused my whole being <br />Parched tongue refreshed <br />I felt arms lifting me <br />Lovingly into his own <br />Slowly as in a hazy dream <br />Shuddered in completion <br />Two minds meeting as one <br />Not aggrieved nor conflicted <br />Not resistant but yielding <br />No more questions but answers <br />A dipper dipped in heaven <br />Volcanic lava flow in abandon <br />Hands not touching minds intent <br />Tousled words leave us content <br />Your whisper of endearment <br />Made me know for certain <br />There is a God who cares.<br /><br />Doris Cornago<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/god-who-cares/
