Walking in field and came upon a rose
I picked it off the ground and put it to my nose
It smelled good and looked all colorful and flashy
I don't think I'd ever heard of it before so I named it
Ashley. It's texture and oar was unusually hypnotic
That it almost cast a spell on you as soon as you found it.
It lures you in to take it's interest but please be careful
Cause it is the thorniest. It was royally purple with a beautiful
Green trim and the smell felled the air as you caught it
In the down wind. The field was full of these roses as I saw
More than one and going around looking at them was a lot of fun.
But don't forget that this was a new breed that had never been
found but in that field that day I had never seen such pretty roses
All over the ground. As I stood on top of a hill that day and looked
Down at the field I felt like A king and looking around was a thrill.
I took one of those roses home that day and put it in my yard and
And now you have no idea was a thrill it is walking outside to my car.
The smell of the roses completely take over my yard the neighbors
can smell them from way and far. they give me compliments and
I receive calls about my roses through summer, spring and fall.

James (Bluesman)Cooper

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-rose-name-ashley/
