Whilst others do follow the leader you always do go your own way <br />And you are just an individual that's what others of you do say <br />You are not a tribal sort of person nor to any beliefs you don't cling <br />And whilst others are in their own small groups you always are doing your own thing, <br />You are not a part of a cliche you do seem quite different to most <br />You always leave your deeds do the talking of yourself you never do boast <br />Whilst others are seeking attention out of the limelight you do stay <br />And whilst others brag of their achievements of yourself you have nothing to say, <br />You have always been the quiet achiever and you do not crave to be well known <br />And you do not leave others to think for you as you've got a mind of your own <br />You are not a member of a political party and you are not one who play sport <br />Yet you are a very good person you've never stood before a judge in a court, <br />You do your own thing and you mind your own business and you never boast of how great you are <br />Though for to meet your very equal one would have to travel quite far.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/you-do-your-own-thing/
