A poem I made with my sister.

Bright, fresh and green
The woods were that day,
Despite no darkness,
I lost my way!

Four paths originated
To end nowhere in sight,
Three of them were beautiful
Lively, pleasant and bright.

The fourth path was dark
As dark as it could be
With the sunlight glistening
Through a thick canopy.

I considered the brighter paths
Bright sunlight led the way,
I was afraid to take them
The light would fade someday.

I chose the darker path
Though what was ahead I couldn't see,
It would never get darker
It was as dark as it could be.

Faint footsteps led me
I followed without a word,
Soon the sun greeted me
The footsteps got blurred.

I crossed the remaining path
Unscathed, with much care,
The path seemed to thank me
For giving it some wear.

Soon I came out of the woods
Wondering who'd helped me,
Wondering how I managed to come out
Though it was as dark as it could be.

It was God who helped me
I suddenly knew,
I believed God was one
Until I was helped by two.

My parents were my Gods
No wonder they helped me,
When it was dark
As dark as it could be.

Mugdha Khedkar

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/lost-in-the-woods-2/
