I wish my dad would just be here <br />To be with us; his kids and wife <br />Be part of all obstacles in this challenging life <br />In happiness and problems we struggled to survive. <br /> <br />I wish my dad would just see us grown <br />For he left us, it was still dawn <br />I was still young and his name was unknown <br />But all his memory to us had never been blown. <br /> <br />Without his presence, for me he's here <br />Because I am carrying and living by his name <br />Standing with pride and honour I bring <br />Wether I win or loose in all life's game. <br /> <br />I wish my dad would see my important day <br />Wearing my toga, holding my diploma <br />Standing in front of stage filled with confidence <br />In my heart shouting father's name having his dream. <br /> <br />A dream that now come true when he wished it in my birthday <br />The day that I last seen his face smiling to me <br />Holding my hand, telling me to be brave and have courage <br />Now, I wish him to be here, to see my success. <br /> <br />I wish my dad would just be here <br />To see his grandchildren running and play <br />Be with my family and watching us happily <br />Though he's not here, I remember him everyday.<br /><br />Judith Kempis<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-wish-my-dad-is-here/
