Churches and graveyards are all around <br />With so many bodies just lie in the ground <br />Most of whom overgrown and covered in moss <br />It seems to me such a terrible loss <br /> <br />Moss and weeds cover the stones <br />Underneath the stench of rotting bones <br />Names and dates of years gone by <br />Just looking at them can make me cry <br /> <br />Old and young and rich and poor <br />We all end up under this green floor <br />Some of us come and lay some flowers <br />Some even lay under tall marble towers <br /> <br />But most have been long forgotten <br />Coffins all full of bones who lay just rotting <br />Names on the stones nearly worn away <br />What a sad end to a perfect day.<br /><br />Lee Gardiner<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/graveyards-5/
