We were placed so carefully underneath the blue Texas sky.
You and I.
We grew together In the springs sunny glow in a blue green field of blue bonnet's.
We ran and we shouted.
As the sun flowed through our blonde hair.
We laughed and we cried.
And people died.
Presidents lived and presidents died.
But we ran through the blue bonnet's as though the world was dry.
We even thought the rain would not subside.
That was the way it was for you and I.
We gathered the bonnet's and we put them in our hair.
and we frolicked back in forth like we didn't care.
And then you left me there.
Alone in our blue meadow.
And I cried out because you were no longer here.
I wept and I wept.
I tried to find some cheer.
Then I saw your favorite bird and he sang me a song the one you always liked to hear.
His song was so sweet I fell into a sleep.
When I slept I had a dream it was about you and I running through the blue bonnet's under the beautiful Texas sky.

For My loving sister Eliga ann Fox
George otto Becker

George otto Becker

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/bluebonnet-s-and-angels/
