Close the mind to worry
relax your limbs against fear,
change the distance into sight
as eyes become the seer.
An arrow straight leaves the shaft
of a bow so true,
aimed at life to bring it down
feathered barbs pass through.
At the tip a projection of imagery
a scent of poisoned flames,
to the centre it goes
as dreams reveal more claims.
Now drop this mask of glory
as its colours are revealed,
quiet words will shout the story
as your sentence is repealed,
on a hill alone listen
to the careless wind of love blown,
turn and leave,
run from the fear in mirrors shown.
Soon the wind no more is heard,
in silence all still,
no time for sitting
in the task you aid the letters seal,
step unto heaven
swing wide the golden gates held on rusted nails,
in judgement stands a victor,
Lord of light and King of tales.
There you become inner bliss
in truth of enlightened sight,
no stopping now as you approach the clue,
the answers right,
keep to the game using the same words
that release the story,
praying hard for the strength
to win a final victory.
Staying, playing, fighting fast
the last elusive air,
rise and fall in the role,
acting out hearts despair,
the disguise falls
a shadow split in two,
the truth of yesterday
at last comes flowing through,
to stand naked now
the mask is torn,
before the patient world
your soul is wild, alive, reborn.

Richard Allen Beevor

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/truth-of-you-in-disguise/
