Looking for a way to say <br />What words cannot express <br />Hoping to find you in the mood <br />For emotions that can confess <br />Thinking that your eyes will tell <br />Stories that only life will ever write <br />Your hands to a palmist may <br />Foretell our future, all our days <br />Our feet leave footprints <br />In the sands of time <br />As we walk your hand in mine <br />But I know and so do you <br />All that matters is in the heart <br />Where we live as one <br />And never far apart. <br />What use have I for words <br />And what would emotion say <br />My hands may in jest <br />Make gestures as you request <br />My feet walk to follow <br />Wherever they are led <br />But our heart, a shrine within <br />Never did give in. <br />And at our journey’s end <br />What is it we would defend? <br />Only love remains <br />When all our life is drained <br />We no longer reach for truth <br />Truth is enshrined within <br />And shines for all to see <br />When hearts are melted <br />And are just transparent <br />To the endless love of Thee.<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/melted-hearts/
