Evaporate from us... <br />Desires fed. <br />Now lifted and vaporized, <br />Into oblivion. <br />Like those requirements needed, <br />To fulfill elementary tasks. <br />The ones that troubled, <br />But from us have left fast. <br /> <br />What had attracted, <br />No longer is in our minds to grasp. <br />Like those we shared friendships with, <br />In a 4th or 5th grade class. <br />Or what it was like, <br />Enjoying that first piece of... <br /> <br />Gee! <br />I can't remember whose it was. <br />Or whether it was vanilla or chocolate frosted. <br />The mind is a terrible thing to witness go to waste. <br />All I remember were those round cheeks, <br />Filled with pound cake.<br /><br />Lawrence S.
