If we did not have a yesterday....
Would it be tomorrow we now live?
To say that today...
What we could have done then,
With a doing more today...
To have our way as lived?

Could anyone honestly say or admit,
To a living with disappointment...
'If',
We knew those seeds planted grew...
Today?

Those 'ands',
With their 'ifs' to 'but'...
Crops up in memories,
Too much.

And dreams and wishes do come true,
To be fulfilled.
They do!
'But'...
A wanting more to add onto those dreams,
We don't give up.
There is a wanting of more stuff.
With an allowing of disappointment.

People can't be teased or tempted,
Enough.
No!
People want to be kept real pleased...
With a doing away of the rough.
For more fluff.
To puff and strut with a flaunting.

People can't be teased or tempted,
Enough.
No!
To want and choose to validate...
What was eatened,
They ate.

People can't be teased or tempted,
Enough.
No!
To compromise on their licking of sugar,
To appreciate what it takes...
With a serving done on their plates.
And delivered as is wished.

People can't be teased or tempted,
Enough.
No!
To want and choose to validate...
What was eatened,
They ate.
Baited to order and made...
For them,
To suit their whims...
With a eating,
Of everything given as wished...
On their plates,
Today!

And...
Refuse,
A serving they wish to dismiss...
Ordered yesterday.

Yes,
And...
Refuse,
A serving they wish to dismiss...
Ordered yesterday.

And just,
Too confused...
To recognize what they had ordered,
And wished...
From their yesterdays.

Lawrence S.
