Darkness surrounds me <br />The only light, given off by the flames that consume me <br />Alone I lie <br />Immune to the feeling of heat <br /> <br />Finally he enters <br />His weapon of choice in hand <br />It is a dull pocket knife <br />The pain it's brought to many has been more than imaginable <br /> <br />He walks to me <br />Inflammable <br />Untouched by the flames <br />They part as he bends down above me <br /> <br />I see the faces of past fears flash in his eyes <br />The helpless children he has brought torture to <br />As he reaches down to my heart <br />I feel the tip of the knife digging in <br /> <br />The dull blade against my heated skin causes me to scream <br />I look down and see him carving out my heart <br /> <br />Dripping from my chest the black blood I have grown to recognize <br />I feel the blade ripping away my skin <br />Digging deeper and deeper into my chest <br />Pulling my treasure out, he grins <br />His horribly malicious grin <br /> <br />As he takes my heart in hand <br />He turns <br />Walking away <br />Leaving me screaming in pain <br /> <br />For I know he will not let me forget this torture <br />Even as I take my final breath <br />Taste the saltiness of my final tear <br />Scream with my last bit of air <br /> <br />I know he has done his job <br />Taken my life <br />To preserve his <br />A true monster at heart <br /> <br />A heart that is not his own.<br /><br />Aria Quimby<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-stolen-heart-3/
