I wish <br />I wish I could touch the skies <br />as I fly up high <br />and watch the earth underneath me lie <br />lie down like a magical pie <br />I can't <br />So I would'nt <br /> <br />I wish I could send you a dozen roses <br />with a dozen nightly glows <br />But we both know <br />They would sadly die of an overdose <br />of not breathing <br />before our momentous meeting <br />I could <br />But I would'nt <br /> <br />I wish I could walk the seven seas <br />and turn sea water into wine <br />The thought alone <br />sends shivers to my spine <br />I can't <br />So I would'nt <br /> <br />I wish I could send you a neckless <br />made of expensive exquisite rare diamonds <br />Without having to steal from public funds <br />Or perhaps forge huge financial bonds <br />To afford such a present <br />I could <br />But I would'nt <br /> <br />I wish that I could tell you <br />whats on my mind <br />The right words, I am still trying <br />so hard to find <br /> <br />I wish I could heal the sick <br />help the poor, the old and the weak <br />Think of how many people <br />I could cure in a space of one week <br /> <br /> <br />I wish that trees and leaves could talk <br />Think of all the crowds that will flock <br />around forest paths to have a walk <br />And listen to years of mysteries unfold <br />into unsolved lifes puzzle <br />you are yet to be told <br /> <br />I wish that some dreams could come true <br />because one and one makes two <br />And maybe I could finally be with you <br /> <br />Most of all <br />I wish that you were here <br />Sometimes that empty space <br />In this day and place <br />I simply cannot bear <br /> <br />Copyright 2005 -Sylvia Chidi<br /><br />Sylvia Chidi<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-wish-10/
