Grey bags bursting with purpose <br />drift inpatiently above. <br /> <br />I have a roof <br />Sometimes steam seeps <br />from the cracks of the <br />battered tiles. <br /> <br />Yet it keeps me dry <br />I should not worry myself <br />with the troubles in the sky. <br /> <br />Think myself lucky <br />I am not having to search streets <br />for shelter. <br />Nor smell just cooked bread <br />or fresh Italian coffee spilling <br />out of a happy coffee shop. <br />I do not have to ignore the <br />chuckling cash machines. <br />Nor sell my smile to a priest <br />for one night of warmth. <br /> <br />I have a televesion <br />It's silver and is rather large. <br />I have a private place to deposit <br />my waste. <br />I can be God and change the climate <br />Cold- click- warmth <br />feel a little drowsy <br />a little to the left and feel at ease. <br /> <br />I have sheilds to deflect the rain <br />I can watch my enemy <br />collide against my protector <br />and watch it <br />Defeated <br />dripping onto the streets below. <br /> <br />I have a million and one things <br />to be thankful for <br />Yet when the zip is pulled <br />and the pummelling pavement <br />pleads forgivness <br />I feel stripped <br />Naked and exposed <br />in a field of a million laughing women.<br /><br />Not Long Left<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/when-walls-only-keep-out-so-much/
