A cheerful girl of adolescent age: <br />Who smiled always and helped others to laugh; <br />Who helped mother in chores and read each page; <br />Whose heart was large and suffered nightly cough! <br /> <br />Well-mannered girl, who studied hard and worked, <br />She looked after the little ones at home; <br />She cleaned the house and cooked and washed and joked; <br />Early from bed, she wore a face welcome! <br /> <br /> <br />A favorite of everyone, she was; <br />She wore plain clothes and led a simple life; <br />Her sudden death at fourteen was a loss; <br />She patiently bore disease amidst strife! <br /> <br />An Angel- God took her away when young; <br />In Heaven now, she prays to Jesus, clung! <br /> <br />“Is it true that good earthlings named ‘Angeline’ die early? ” <br />Yes, may be when they live up to their heavenly names! <br />Dedicated fondly in memory of my beloved elder sister <br />(late) Angeline Mary Rexina <br />Copyright by Dr John Celes 16-1-2006<br /><br />Dr John Celes<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/sonnet-angeline/
